In this contemporary age, it has been evident that the population of many nations has a higher proportion of young adults compared to the number of elder persons. Despite its drawbacks, the benefits of this situation surpass the disadvantages. My reasoning is justified further in the following write-up.
The primary advantage of having more young people is their ability to work more hours compared to older individuals. By this I mean to say that the energy levels of young individuals are higher than those of older ones. They can serve more hours for the organization where they are working. Additionally, they can be a catalyst in the process of developing a nation, as a larger population of the younger generation increases the revenue of the respective country’s organizations, which ultimately benefits the country.
Apart from this, the major proportion of youth generates an opportunity for the government to indulge them in social activities and national duties. For instance, army and police services require emerging blood to be capable of fighting physically and mentally.
However, this situation has its demerits. The main drawback is employment, which occurs due to an overflow of young people. This is because governing authorities and private organizations cannot give job opportunities to every young individual. Furthermore, the absence of experienced working professionals directly affects a respective company or government in a negative manner.
Thus, to conclude, although having a majority of youth has a few demerits, the positive side, such as an increase in the nation’s workforce and the ability to work overtime, makes it clear that the merits outweigh the flaws.
