In the current era, young adults constitute a considerable percentage of the population in some nations, in comparison to the elderly. Although some individuals reckon that having a predominantly young population may trigger multiple drawbacks, I personally contend that this can do more wonders for the country thanks to its active workforce.
On the other hand, proponents of the idea that it is disadvantageous to have a high proportion of adults in a country often state several reasons. The most outstanding concern is the imbalance of age distribution, leading to an overflow of the workforce. Consequently, young residents are supposed to face unemployment, which then poses potential threats to the country including greater crime rate and social instability. Furthermore, seniors are perceived as gaining much wider experience, wisdom and exposure to many specific fields. These traits can be contributed to numerous aspects comprising politics, history, social issues, fostering the country’s overall vitality and dominance. The absence of such mentorship and guidance could hinder cultural, societal progress and growth.
On the other hand, many people, including myself, believe that the prevalence of youthful populations brings about many merits. Initially, young adults are characterized by their ambition, motivation and creative mind that are indispensable for developing country’s strength. These dynamic and productive workforces will come up with new fresh ideas, bring innovations, which accelerate rapid economic growth and facilitate evolutions. For instance, most technological advancements are driven by young adults who have shown their determination in pursuing their goals. The second benefit lies in relieved financial burden. In other words, healthcare expenses and pensions for the elderly require a huge allocation of financial budget. The minimized number of them will offset difficulties and increase economic growth.
In brief, high percentage of young population can result in both pros and cons, and I believe that the merits outweigh the drawbacks.
