Nowadays, many countries in the world have a much larger number of young adults than that of the elderly, which is deemed to be beneficial to themselves. From my viewpoint, the advantages of this situation do outweigh the disadvantages for these reasons as follow.
First and foremost, the increasing number in the population of the young could be highly advantageous in terms of improving the country’s economy. It is apparent that when there are a huge sum of young people in society, the labour force would increase in size. In addition, the increasing demand for occupations also boosts the profits that organizations or companies could earn due to the fact that there are many employees applying for the job. However, to achieve this aim, the country must take the most advantage of its young people and not make the labour force become too competitive.
The other benefits of fewer older people in the country is that the cost of social welfare and pension would greatly decrease. As a matter of fact, when there are only a few elderly people, the government does not need to spend much of its revenues on the old’s fee. Additionally, when there are only a small number of people in the old age, there is less pressure on the young and the government could take care of the old better. In fact, a population with a few old people would make the cost for the elderly affordable and reduce the stress of money for the young adults. The government could care much more thoroughly for the old and meet every of their need if the old population is not too high.
In conclusion, when there are fewer old people, the country would be more beneficial than there are fewer young people for the aforementioned reasons.
