Being a famous person may not only bring advantages, but also cause drawbacks. Although popularity might be dangerous, I believe that there are more advantages such as a high income.
The main disadvantage of becoming a celebrity is that there is a huge risk of being stalked. This is because some admirers may have psychological diseases or an obsession with a particular famous person. As a result, well-known people can face serious dangers such as physical observation, monitoring on social media, attempts to break into the house or to do a harm from an inadequate fans. For this reason most celebrities usually hire bodyguards so that they are protected while attending public places. For example, an American singer Taylor Swift goes to awards, restaurants, hotels and airports with security in order to stay in safety and avoid crowds of enthusiasts.
On the other hand, fame brings plenty of benefits, namely a substantial income. The reason is a large amount of different projects that celebrities have. For example, actors earn substantial salaries for their roles in movies, especially, if they are main ones, singers organise concerts and popular sportsmen obtain the income from wins in competitions. Meanwhile, a significant profit allows to acquire a luxury property, obtain highly-qualified services, visit a considerable number of countries. Hence, the main reason why people dream of becoming a star is the opportunity to earn a fortune.
In conclusion, although public figures may be in danger due to some too obsessive admirers, they are able to receive a significant income for their works. For these reasons, the positives outnumber the negatives.
