These days individuals have become addicted to spending so much time on TV platforms and playing computer games. Some people say that online networking worsens their mental abilities. I agree with this view, sitting position while watching television or playing computerized games causes health issues like depression and obesity. In the following paragraphs, I shall explain this view in detail.
Excessive time spent on TV platforms and computer games has negative effects on mental and physical health. Prolonged sitting, a common habit during such activities, can lead to issues like obesity, poor posture, and even depression. Furthermore, being engrossed in these forms of entertainment can reduce physical activity, which is vital for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. According to a “Health Public” article, today 80% of patients are teenagers, who are addicted to using social platforms online. Therefore, they have a problem with cognitive abilities due to the excessive use of technology.
Despite some disadvantages, computerized games improve brain development regarding critical thinking. When they are playing computer games, they can solve the problems quickly. For instance, teenagers have to solve complex challenges during exams, and they can strategically make decisions owing to a solid foundation in critical thinking. Thus, individuals might show better performance on the exams especially in critical thinking.
In conclusion, participating in electronic games and watching TV have pros and cons. Brain development is developed by playing games such as activities. However, the use of computer games leads to anxiety and poor health like obesity due to prolonged sitting in front of a computer or television. I believe that spending time on TV or the computer cannot improve cognitive abilities and in contrast, causes physical health issues.
