Band 4+: Consumers are faced with increasing numbers of advertisements from competing companies. To what extent do you think are consumers influenced by advertisements? What measures can be taken to protect them?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, the majority of companies advertising their customers are increasingly rising up. Considering the fact that these advertisements are invading people’s privacy, it’s gotton to the point where the consumers are no longer safe anymore and in most cases, this could affect emergency matters. People should try to limit their exposure to these advertisements as well as get away from these businesses’ marketing strategies.

Most often, these advertisements create illusions to the consumers’ minds so that they would think that it is a product that is necessary for everyone when in reality, it’s not. And sometimes, even in emergency situations, they try to disregard one’s safety and throw in an ad. One’s safety and privay regulations are important and they are breaking these by forcing the ads in their personal lives. For example, when someone’s having a heart attack or a cardiac arrest, the ad of a breather would not help them in any way.

To solve these kinds of problems, people should not expose themselves to the media platforms too often and should practice the solutions when it comes to emergent moments. People shouldn’t also mindlessly fall the advertisements on the social media or any where without critically thinking about if they really need it, or how it will help them in most of the situations they are in or will be in, which will help them decide. They also shouldn’t be falling the big companies advertising strategies and should stay away from them as possible as they can. Not only it can minimize their chances of falling for a product that isn’t useful but also prioritise their privacy and safety. In conclusion, most of the people around the world are consuming a lot of ads and it affects their safety and day-to-day life. People should consider not using the internet often to minimse their wants, and also be careful of the big companies’ traps. I think advertisements shouldn’t be forced upon the consumers.
