Feeling slightly nervous, Emma walked up the steps and onto the plane. She was going to England to visit her family for her grandmother’s birthday. “It will be a surprise”, she thought, since she had been studying at Harvard for ten months now.
That day, the weather was terrible. The clouds were appearing in the sky, and it started to rain. Emma got on her flight, stowed her things, and sat in her seat. Then she fastened her belt, and ten minutes later the plane took off. She was really nervous because she didn’t like the turbulence, so she calmed down by taking a breath. After a while, she relaxed and ate something that flight attendants gave her.
Five hours later, the plane landed, and she woke up to get ready for a big surprise. Her family was waiting for her; Emma took her suitcase and got off the plane. When she walked through the gate, she saw her grandmother waiting with a smile.
“Happy birthday, Grandma!” Emma said, hugging her tightly. After months away, she finally felt at home.
