Nowadays, there is a significant reduction in the number of young individuals who play sports outside their school periods. This essay will discuss the main roots of this problem and provide solutions for encouraging young people to be involved in physical activities.
One of the primary causes is the rise of the internet and easy access to digital devices. These devices are filled with sources of entertainment designed to attract young consumers, all readily accessible without the need to go outdoors. This prevents these individuals from engaging in any other activities that involve physical movement, such as sports. One solution is for parents to take action by limiting the amount of time their children have access to technology. Additionally, they can also persuade them by discussing the benefits and enjoyment of sports and encouraging them to participate in sports competitions and tryouts hosted at their schools.
Secondly, another contributing factor to this problem is the fact that schools do not make enough effort to convince students to take part in extracurricular activities. Many of the faculty members focus on the students’ academic results so much that the majority of these students end up spending their time studying rather than enjoying other physical activities. Consequently, the obvious solution lies in the hands of the school faculty members themselves. They should encourage their students to partake in well-known sports activities, such as football, basketball, volleyball, and badminton. There are a few ways to achieve this, one of which is to promote upcoming sports events by hanging posters on bulletin boards. Another more convenient way is to make announcements during assemblies so that students who are willing to join a sports team can readily gather information about them.
In conclusion, easy access to technology and the unavailability of extracurricular activities in schools are the two primary reasons which prevent young people from partaking in sports. To solve this issue, parents and members of the school board are responsible for encouraging these young individuals to engage in physical activities.
