Movie and music industry stars may benefit from their status in a great number of ways by having access to wealth, luxury, prestigious events. However, fame comes with its own drawbacks which may make celebrities feel miserable due to: lack of privacy, high expectations, danger from stalkers etc.
To some extent, I agree with such outlook that it may be a reality for portion of prominent figures but I do believe that it does not mean that every single famous person is in despair. Some celebrities’ level of success may allow a star to have best of both worlds – praise, awards, glamour as well as relatively ordinary life. For instance, singer Harry Styles still loves occasionally biking around London despite popularity. Yet there are still many celebrities who suffer rather than thrive in the industry, regardless of their career perks.
In fact, everything has its own price so stardom may affect every celebrity in one way or another. Some lose contact with their families, circle of friends, romantic partners, others lose touch with reality and gain various addictions. It is completely unpredictable since some even have to lose their freedom of speech to carry on doing their job, so it would be right to say that it has fluctuating price. In particular, Britney Spears’s story can be a great but tragic example, as she was under a conservatorship for over a decade.
In conclusion, in spite of numerous reasons for celebrities to feel deeply unhappy, there is still a considerable amount of stars who are satisfied with their position and would never give it up. Although, the price may be too high for some or too low for others depending how lucky the person is.
