Band 5+: Government investment in public transport and reduction in public transport prices will greatly help in fight against transport pollution. Do you agree or disagree with the statement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is believed that the low cost of public transport owing to the investment of state in this sector will deteriorate the transport pollution. Nevertheless, i strongly disagree that the reduced fares by Establishment for local transport will propel the mitigation of transport destruction.

Firstly, the abatement of pollution should be more focused on research and development of renewable energy systems and utilising them in public transport rather than just decreasing the prices. This is the renewable sources have energy efficiency and reduced gas emissions. For example, the bio fuel is replaced by conventional fuel in Germany which resulted in reduced environment pollution.

Secondly, the lower rates of travelling will attract more passengers which means greater number of people will be buying tickets. Which results in usage of more number of vehicles, causing high rates of carbon emissions. Hence, further adding to degradation of natural environment. Moreover, the government inflated spendings on this will disturb the economic condition of state because no profit is expected due to low fares. That means low budget available for the research and development of noval alternatives for lessening the pollution. And its significant to find sustainable solution to deal with pollution owing to its prolonged effects.

In conclusion, the government should dedicate finances on finding the renewable energy solutions for long term benefits rather than mere decreasing the travel costs. This act will significantly accelerate the abatement of pollution caused from the massive use of transport vehicles.
