In contemporary society, numerous women opt to remain single and not marry. Several individuals, myself included, believe that this growing trend is a natural consequence of financial independency of modern women. Moreover, this financial independency has rendered marriage as an additional burden and impacted on women’s choosing.
It is widely recognized that participation of women in economy have reshaped the families. Furthermore, women who were once raised to solely occupy with housing and maternal duties, nowadays consist of a major portion of workforce. As a natural consequence of this shift, parallelly carrying out tasks in home and workplace have become a new challenge, which many prefer to avoid. For instance, today, a working woman has to take care of the children while preparing the company’s new product.
On the other hand, economic independency of females has rendered selectiveness for their male options. In other words, women without any financial backing had to set up lower standards for their marriage option out of fear. However, nowadays with the economic stability, women have started to opt people based on their likings and previously overlooked characteristics such as handsomeness. For instance, today, women refuse to tolerate maltreatments and can do not doubt for leaving their male partners.
In conclusion, I believe that the financial independency of females have led to a decline in the marriage rate. Furthermore, women who are not obligated to marry, have set higher standards for males compared to past and they become reluctant to carry out tasks both inside and outside of their homes.
