Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, the problem of growing life expectancy is one of the most controversial tasks in the world. For many people, the opportunity to lead a happy long life is an attractive one. However, there are both pros and cons. In this essay, I will discuss some of the reasons why rising life expectancy is so important and some of the downsides to be overcome.

Let’s start by looking at the advantages. One of the main positives of increasing life expectancy is the chance to enjoy life longer. Many people start appearing the personal fulfilment only in the old age. For many elderly, there are opportunities to open a lot of new interesting activities which they hadn’t done before because of their work. Obviously, if they live longer, they will enjoy life longer. Another advantage is that life expectancy is impacted on the sum of taxes. As a result, if people live and work longer, they will pay the taxes longer.

One of the biggest disadvantages is that the government have to pay more pensions. Because of this the taxes will be higher for workers, and as a result, there will be some problems in economy. Another major drawback is the growing pressure on medical stuff because a lot of old people are sick very quickly.

In summary, there are clearly both positives and negatives to increasing life expectancy. While it is a chance to take more pleasure. However, for some workers there are many difficulties with it. In my opinion, the government should develop the special programs that have eased the tax system and provided the medicine sector.
