Whilst many people believe fitness and health is the responsibility only of schools, others might think it is a job of their guardians to ensure a healthy lifestyle. I believe fitness of children is an overlapping responsibility of both ends.
At one end of the spectrum, Children could learn and benefit a lot from theoretical Physical education classes. The classes indulge them in visual aids and benefits of exercising. A lot of the guardians work in job shifts which incur them to have time constraints to properly educate their children about health and fitness. They conclude having children spend most of their learning experience from school ,it is a responsibility of the school to focus on the improved physical and mental health of the children.
On the other end of the spectrum, children learn and look up to their parents. It is the responsibility of the guardian to be physically fit and glorify the reaps of a healthy lifestyle such as having high levels of energy, reduced risk of chronic diseases(Heart disease, diabetes) . The food should always be prepared at home in place of packaged food. Focus on diet is a responsibility of the guardians. Having a abuse, toxic free surrounding at home is also a part of mental fitness. Enhanced mental health and reduced stress are keys of mindfulness.
In conclusion, both ends go hand-in-hand. The school as well as their guardians both have a role to play .Children’s mental and physical health should be promoted. Sports events and frequent quizzes on healthy lifestyle could be implemented. Yoga in the morning play a big part in mindfulness of the body. The intentation is for children to develop improved fitness levels, better mental space, less risk of chronic diseases and more.
