Band 4+: In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

In many states, customers pay for vegetables, fruits and meat which produced different parts of the globe.

This essay agrees that it is totally positive development because citizens can reach better quality food, and cheaper products.

Buying imported foods promises better quality food for countries. In the world, countries have a climate, and each climate is suitable for different kind of food. In other words, one plant cannot cultivate in every climate, some of them is seeking for hot and others seeking for cold. Water and soil quality are other important and different parameters for every plant. As a result, farmers produce bigger, tastier fruits and vegetables in suitable countries. For example, in the northeast of Turkey, farmers rise best nuts in the world, and it grows in a restricted area, because nuts require certain climate and soil.

Different countries are expertise on certain kind of foods and they can offer better prices than producing these foods in your soil. Today, food prices are more competetive because farmers from all around globe compete with each others. This provides lower cost for customers. Thanks to reduced transportation costs, every product could reach customers from differents nations, and it feels like the world just a small country. There is also mass production helps to reduce prices. For instance, the government forbids the banana import for supporting local farmer, and babana prices doubled for years.

In conclusion, food importation is a good chance for citizens, because it offers superior foods and cheaper prices.
