In the contemporary era, in some nations, it is possible for shoppers to buy imported products that are increasingly displayed in supermarkets. While this practice may bring numerous drawbacks, the overall impact is tremendously beneficial for customers.
On the one hand, providing a wide selection of foreign food may hamper the locals from development. It is undeniable that these products could bring tons of accessibility opportunities for buyers; however, it also puts a burden on the revenue within the local manufacturers. In fact, there are massive domestic manufacturing plants suffering from bankruptcy due to the popularity of international ones. Nonetheless, I am convinced that the more competition in the food products industry, the greater stimulation this brings to make an adaptation to customer’s preferences.
On the other hand, I do perceive that the ongoing phenomenon of international food consumption could offer more benefits. Firstly, shoppers who prefer these kinds of items are likely to gain easy access to imports worldwide without traveling abroad. Particularly, If consumers have a desire to taste exotic cuisine, they have to allocate a certain amount of time and money to possess it. Recently, there has been a rise in the imported products, namely dairies and fruits in the domestic market at affordable prices, which promote the remarkable increase in their profits. That is not to mention the quality and safety that the merchandise could bring on an account strict trial process at the customs agencies.
In conclusion, despite the drawbacks, I firmly believe that the popularity of international food in the supermarket will help consumers have more chances to access various foods at affordable prices and taste numerous food cultures around the world.
