Today’s world technologies allow people to travel around the world. Some might say that people from countries that struggle economically tend to immigrate to other countries with economic growth or stability therefore to find a job. As a result, there might be several benefits and drawbacks. From my perception, the benefits do not outweigh the drawbacks of this matter, and this essay will cover the reasons why.
Countries with a fast-developing economy are always in need of professionals to expand and improve an economic scale. Thus, the international workforce does receive a broader career perspective and opportunities. Such factors as diversity, highly qualified colleagues, experiences of a new culture, and, essentially, a higher paycheck create a better working environment for immigrants who have professional degrees. Especially, it is way easier to find a job if the degree one’s got is from that country. That is the way most international students immigrate to the country where they study.
On the other hand, an overwhelming number of people who immigrate to find a job do not have peculiar qualifications to legally work in the country of migration. Thus, there goes the criminal activity. The absence of a special working visa can get one deported or even sued.
In addition to that, people who travel vast distances often feel lonely without families or friends. Besides that, often language barrier is a significant hindrance to making more friends in a new place. Indeed, homesickness is one of the main reasons why immigrants often feel depressed. Is the new paycheck worth it?
