On the one hand, proponents of traditional viewpoint often highlight physical strength and combat readiness as major factor, In the recent world, physical fitness plays crucial in military effectiveness. To explain, men are generally stronger and more capable of handling the physical demands of combat. To be more specific, in military, soldiers are required to bear harsh conditions and do many challenging tasks. Furthermore, combat readiness is also very import to military. In other words, it is believed that men are more confident in combat roles. For example, it is widely reported by the press that male soldiers often excel in physically challenging tasks. This adds credence to the point that men are more suitable for military than women.
On the other hand, I strongly find myself aligning with the spirit of gender equality in the armed forces. Historically, if societies were to embrace equality in military service, it would have opened doors for countless capable women who are now excluded from these roles. This trend has fostered a balance mindset about women joining military. Moreover, increasing evidence suggests that women can perform effectively in combat roles. To clarify, studies have shown that mixed-gender units can enhance performance and collaboration. Taking countries like Israel and Canada as examples, where women serve in combat roles, we see that these forces have successfully integrated women, leading to diverse and effective military units. Thus, it is logical to advocate for equal opportunities in the military for women.
In conclusion though there are arguments for maintaining traditional perspective, I resonate more with the notion that women should have equal access to military service. To strike a balance, it is essential to evaluate individuals based on their skills and potential rather than their gender.
