Nowadays in many developing countries there is serious problem with declining quality of air and water. The main sources of this pollution are industry and construction. In this essay I will discuss what measures can be taken to prevent this problem.
First of all, government should introduce strict laws against pollution. This is because without control many factories throw their waste directly into rivers and air, because it is cheaper for them than to build cleaning systems. If government establish high fines for such violations, corporations will think twice before pollute the environment. For example, in some countries factory which exceed the norm of emissions must pay big penalty or even can be closed. Such measures force business to install modern filters and treatment equipment.
Secondly, it is important to control construction sphere. Building sites produce a lot of dust and dirty water, which go into ground and rivers. This is because builders often ignore ecological norms to save money and time. Therefore government should check construction companies regularly and oblige them to use special technologies which reduce dust and clean the water before it returns to nature.
In addition to government measures, big role plays education of population. If people will understand how pollution harm their health, they will support ecological initiatives and control the situation by themselves. Also companies can invest in green technologies, for example use renewable energy instead of coal, which make less emissions. In my point of view, without changing of mindset only fines will not solve the problem completely.
In conclusion, to prevent declining quality of air and water in developing countries, it need complex measures: strict laws, control of construction, and education of people. If government and society will work together, the environment can be saved for future generations.
