With the rise of digital tools, people are more likely to go for online communication rather than face to face meetings. In my perspective, the advantages of online connection clearly outweigh traditional in person meetings.
On the one hand, electronic communication provides the user with several advantages, which is undeniably useful. The first benefit of online communication is cost-effectiveness. Not only does communicating online save time by not travelling to other places, but also it saves money. Additionally, online communication offers a level of convenience that traditional in-person meetings cannot match. As people can connect from the comfort of their homes or offices, extensive planning and coordination are unnecessary. Moreover, online communication tools often come with features that enhance productivity and collaboration. For instance, video conferencing platforms are often built-in screen sharing features, real-time documentation and recording of meetings. These can be revised later on for reference. Further more, these tools allow people to participate from different locations without the difficulty of travel, making it easier to bring together a variety of perspectives.
On the other hand, online communication also comes with a number of drawbacks. Because of online communication, rather than in-person meetings, these digital discussions are lack of personal interaction and teamwork. This can reduce the productivity of a participant or degrade the effectiveness of the meeting. Furthermore, these online discussions depend on technology knowledge, which can be uneasy for a part of participants.
In conclusion, the cost-effectiveness, convenience, enhanced productivity, flexibility, and environmental benefits make online communication a more common and trendy choice compared to traditional in-person meetings.
