Youngsters nowadays, spend most of their time with their friends and a few time with families. This happens as a consequence of generation gap, and I believe guardians should not compel them to stay at homes as they can become victim of stress by forcing.
These days, everything has undergone a huge change from the past in terms of spending free time, studying, playing and even modes of entertainments have been changed significantly. Therefore , young adults have their own preferences to utilize their leisure time by spending with their peers in spite of spending at home with parents because their thinking is not same as their parents. For example, there are three group of people of age groups 16 – 19 , 35-50 and above 60, there are going for a picnic in a bus. Here, they will spend more time with their same age mates rather than with other age groups because they have similar interests.
If parents are forcing their children to stay more time at home, they can become frustrated all the time because it is necessary to go outside with friends to relax because it is era of cut-throat competition. Youngsters have to study hard in order to get success in their life. Moreover they need some spare time to relax they can get relaxed by either go outside or get rest at home, but they should not be compelled to spend extra time at home. For instance, a student who is preparing for any exam to get job such as NCLEX, he has to study almost 8 to 10 hours after that he needs some time to get relaxed. At that time if parents start forcing them to stay home not to go outside, he can be probably convinced at that time, however he will become too depressed which is not good for his mental health as well.
In conclusion, nowadays young people prefer to stay out with their friends instead of staying with family because of difference in the choices as per their ages. Although it is essential for parents to keep an eagle eye on children that what they are doing but they should not be forced to spend their time with family as it leads them to become mentally unstable.
