It is always argued that if it is necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on fast food. I do agree that it is very essential to have nutritious food style inorder to lead a healthy life. This essay will suggest the reasons behind this.
First of all, junk food causes numerous complicated diseases. Having a lot of fast food has shortened the life of many due to several life style deseases such as diabetics, blood pressure and cholesterol. Because these primary health conditions later turn to major issues like heart attack, cancer etc. This is mainly because it is available for cheap prizes, so if a country can implement heavy taxes on these, people will reduce buying these kinds of food products. For example, rich countries like America, is having high death rates because of the vast consumption of junk food. Majority tend to buy them as there is only limited tax. Thus, Implementing taxes will definitely help to solve this issue to a great extent.
Secondly, government has to increase fast food tax so that flourishing of fast food restaurants could be stopped. Even if people decide not to buy junk food, the advertisements, leaflets and the restaurants themselves attract people towards it. Especially, as per datas youngsters are more fond of these. They find it as a way of relaxation to come out of their stressful studies, jobs etc. For instance, children coming with a packet full of junk food on their hands, is a very common sight in Arab countries. Teachers come across the problems like poor eye sight and diabetics in the classroom because of these poor habits. As these things are very cheap, they are tempted to buy more and become addicted to it. Installing taxes will reduce the flow of young ones to the shops to grab chips, juice, chocolate etc. as they might run out of money.
In conclusion, health is wealth; children are the future citizens of our countries, thus we must take steps to reduce the number of kids who are influenced by fast food. To save their lives and maintain the number of healthy population, implementing taxes on fast food is very crucial.
