In some countries, guns are permitted to be stored in people’s houses. Some assume that this practice is appropriate and needed, while others, myself included, believe that the concept of holding arms in living space is dangerous.
Admittedly, it seems reasonable that equipping pistols in houses is a need for some. This is mainly because keeping guns serves as a method to defend oneself. By arming guns, citizens stand a better chance at protecting their family in unwanted cases, such as armed burglars breaking in their houses. Moreover, a gun-equipped house tends to be less targeted, which eventually enhances citizen’s life quality and their well-being.
On the other hand, I am of the firm conviction that storing guns in houses poses a variety of risks. Regarding the first threat, these fatal weapons might be misused. As not all citizens, including teenagers, are properly trained on how to safely use a gun, unfortunate scenarios might occur. By giving access to pistols for all, especially without parental guidance, uneducated gun users might cause major injuries to others, or even worse. From a social standpoint, the concept of freely keeping and uncontrollably using guns in houses promotes humans to be more violent. Instead of solving the conflict between two sides in peace by discussing, most hot-tempered people would yearn for a faster and more brutal way to put an end to an argument, which is using guns on others. The practice of applying guns might put both parties at danger, so it should not be recommended to avoid potential unforeseen disasters.
In conclusion, while I acknowledge the advantages of citizens from multiple countries keeping a gun in houses brings about, I am of the opinion that its drawbacks are more significant and worthy to be emphasized.In some countries, ordinary citizens are allowed to keep a gun in their houses.
