In many countries today, government gives basic healthcare for all people. But also people are encouraged to buy private health insurance. This essay will examine haw benefits outweight drawbacks.
First, advantage of private insurance is fast treatment. In public hospitals there are many patients and you must wait long time. Sometimes you wait many weeks for doctor or operation. With private insurance you can see doctor quickly, maybe same day. You can also choose what doctor you want and what hospital. Private hospitals are more cozy, rooms are clean and staffs have more time. For example, in my country many people wait 2 months for check heart, but if you have private insurance you can do it in one week. So it seems more efficient for health. Secondly, private insurance can help government hospitals. If many people go to private clinics, public hospitals have less people. Then poor people can get treatment faster too.
Even tough this also illustrates disadvantages. The biggest issue is price, and private health insurance has too expensive costs. Every month you must pay for it, whereas a plenty of families have low salary and cannot pay. That is why only rich people able to have private health. This also looks like inequality in society. What is more, insurance companies sometimes present problems and do not want to pay for some severe diseases. Admitedly, people have to read a huge amount of difficult papers and sick may make them stress.
In conclusion, private health insurance has perks like fast and comfortable treatment, but also downwards like high cost. To my mind advantages outweigh disadvantages for people who have well conditions with finance. Nonetheless the government must make public healthcare accessable for everyone, especially for poor people who cannot buy private insurance.
