Nowadays, people from different countries tend to be more interested and curious about the history behind the place, where they live. From my perspective, these individuals are willing to understand the stories and the people who lived in the same place, and to feel how the past and present are interconnected. There are several methods to do such research.
As mentioned above, the main reason is investigating the stories and people who lived there before them. Such research enhances understanding of the origin of place where an individual live. Moreover, such research gives an unique opportunity to see that those lived there before had their unique stories, life experiences, and were walking in the same corridors, and sleeping in the same rooms. Additionally, people interested in finding out the history of their house may want to know if any of famous people lived there before.
Another significant question is how can these individuals find this information? Firstly, they can review archives, which is the most efficient way to get initial information about the past residents. Secondly, they may collect more detailed and personal information from old residents of the building or neighbors.
All things considered, I believe that people tend to finding out about the history of the place where they live because of desire to understand who lived there in the past and how their life was. This desire can be attributed to curiosity, willing to understand how past and present is connected, or investigating if any famous lived there before.
