Back then, shopping was generally considered as a routine domestic task, yet this tendency has evolved from rare prehomenon to a casual thing. Nowadays scarcely a day goes by without going on a shopping spree. According to surveys, majority of people suffer from this habitual addiction.
First and foremost, such a generally accepted trend takes a toll on people’s wallets. Any indulgence is accompanied by splurging out on whims. For instance, my close relative is addicted to shopping. She has a large wardrobe and a pile of unnecessary stuff. I am certain she is not even aware of which kinds of clothes there is in the drawers. It is a devastating thing, as being a reckless spendthrift means not being able to have financial literacy.
Secondly, I believe that it is an inadequate tendency to purchase everything on the shelves of stores. Predominantly people with obesity disease or eating disorders tend to buy unwanted things , such as soda drinks instead of still water and buns instead of healthy food.As a consequence, this habit can negatively affect both physical and mental health. Moreover, shopping addiction often causes stress and anxiety because people constantly worry about money and debts after unnecessary purchases.
However, some people argue that shopping can be beneficial since it helps individuals relax after exhausting working days. Visiting shopping centres with friends may also strengthen relationships and create pleasant memories. Despite this, I am convinced that excessive shopping has far more disadvantages than advantages.
In conclusion, although shopping may occasionally serve as entertainment, I strongly believe that considering it a hobby is largely a negative trend. People should learn to distinguish between essential purchases and impulsive desires in order to maintain both financial stability and a healthy lifestyle.
