Nowadays, advertisement has become a crucial component for the growth of businesses in which they introduce new technologies related to their products. The purpose of these strategies is to boost the market sales. Do these strategies really helpful in building a strong business. In my view, these negatively affect the firm.
One of the most prominent reasons for fake advertising of products is to increase their sales. Companies often highlight the innovative features that lack in competitor’s products to grasp customer’s attention. For example, surf excel, a very famous detergent brand, advertised that it contains advanced powerful surfactants which not only removes dirt but also grease stains. This promotional ad attracted attention of thousands of consumers ultimately leading to enhanced market sales as compared to other’s brand.
This trend has many negative effects, particularly it breaks customer’s trust. When consumers do not find the claimed benefits in products, they became heart broken. Moreover, they think that their hard-earned money is wasted which affects their financial conditions. It is specifically more serious in case of highly priced, precious products. For instance, a case has been reported against the Zaivrat Jewelers in Pakistan, who falsely claimed that the purity of their gold is 22 karats but in actual it was just 18 karats. This incidence affected many of their customers in long-term.
In conclusion, many firms are using false advertisements for the growth of their businesses. However, in my opinion, it is a negative trend because it affects the trust of consumers which are a key component for their market share.
