Overall, international candidates were more interested in China from 2004 to 2006. Interestingly, in 2006, the USA and China had similar numbers, each with between 15,000 and 20,000 applicants. Surprisingly, in the last year, the USA surpassed other countries in the number of applicants.
On one hand, there was little difference in the number of candidates in Russia over the years, with slight variations under 5,000. Japan consistently had levels above 5,000 but below 10,000, with a slight increase to 10,000 in 2008.
On the other hand, the notable part is the intersection of the USA and China. In 2004, China led with around 25,000 to 30,000 applicants, but its popularity decreased over the years. In contrast, the number of applicants in the USA drastically increased. China’s data in 2005 was around 20,000. Notably, the China had consistent sacle in 2006 and 2007 was around 15000, while the USA had 15,000. In 2007, the USA had over 20,000 applicants, while China was under 20,000. In the last year, China had 15,000 applicants, whereas the USA had between 25,000 and 30,000.
