Opinions are divided on whether people should remain jobless rather than being engaged in a employment that offers no satisfaction. Although I understand the rationale of people holding this view, I believe having a stable occupation regardless of preference brings many positive aspects for workers.
Admittedly, it is true that when people are not overwhelmed by the huge amount of workload at their workplace, they are less likely to suffer from stress-related illnesses such as depression. Therefore, being unemployed can help them lead a more carefree lifestyle and decrease the chance of being prone to mental disorders. Additionally, when individuals have unsatisfying job, they cannot find the motivation to dedicate themselves to their work, hindering their abilities to perform at their best. Consequently, their efficiency, or even their company’s overall productivity, can be reduced. Hence, the suggestion of those advocates can be somewhat justifiable.
Nevertheless, if employees are idle for a long period of time, they can gradually grow depressed and isolated, making them lose the optimism toward life. As a result, they have no other choice but to find a job to get rid of such boredom. Moreover, staying unemployed means not having enough money to afford essential services and meet living expense, especially in this era when the cost of living is becomming more and more expensive, For instance, without a stable income, inviduals may struggle to pay for necessities such as housing, healthcare, and education, which could eventually lead to a lower living standard and financial insecurity. Thus, being unoccupied cannot be considered better than having a tedious position.
In conclusion, despite the idea of being unemployed may seem appealing to some extent, I am convinced that having a permanent job should be a wiser choice for employees.
