Nowadays, many people think that travelling to different places to know their culture and traditions is not necessary because all learn about such things from books, movies, and black and white screen. I partially agree with the statement.
On the one hand, I believe that we can learn about various people’s societies through social media, books, and documentaries. Firstly, people’s lives are becoming more complex. Everyone is running towards their work and studies, so they cannot manage their time to explore the world. As a result, they rely on books and digital platforms to learn about distinct cultures in different places. Secondly, it is very difficult to visit places and learn their values from strangers. Mainly, students are eager to learn these topics because of the academic curriculum. If the physical appearance of the place and the financial condition of the student do not match the criteria, it will not be possible to attend the place physically.
On the other hand, I would argue that it is of paramount importance to explore and understand the cultures of different places. One reason is that it gives reliable and accurate data about the particular society where we visit. Personally, I visit places and learn about their lifestyle and culture because it becomes a means of travel as well as a chance to adapt their norms and values. Furthermore, it is worth it to vitst by yourself instead of relying on others because of the opportunity. Unless people visit the place by themselves, they will not get a chance to interact with people. There are my cultures that are being extinct therefore, to preserve and promote them, one should explore them by visiting.
In conclusion, there are some benefits of learning about social culture from books, radio, TV, and social media. However, in my opinion, we should definitely visit the place for a better understanding of their lives and cultural activities.
