In my opinion, many people today have unhealthy habits, especially children. They do not engage in enough physical activity and consume large amounts of processed foods and fast food. Unfortunately, schools do not adequately educate them about healthy living, and many families lack the time to prepare nutritious meals for their children.
In the past, the population was generally poorer and could not afford much meat and fish, leading them to consume more fruits and vegetables. As a result, their meals were more balanced.
In this millennium, people are much wealthier than before, yet they often neglect the importance of a proper diet, including what to eat, how much, and how often. Additionally, busy lifestyles contribute to their inability to prepare healthy food for their children. Instead, many opt for quick options like processed foods or fast food that require less time to prepare.
Another contributing factor is the sedentary lifestyle that many children lead today. Kids enjoy playing video games and often avoid physical exertion. In the past, they played outside more often and even worked due to their families’ financial struggles. Outdoor play was one of the few leisure activities available at that time. Now, children tend to play on smartphones and PCs, resulting in inadequate physical movement and energy expenditure.
In conclusion, we face significant challenges regarding our lifestyle, particularly concerning children’s habits. In my opinion, we are not doing enough to address these issues.
