It is undeniable that the amount of traffic congestion has been increasing. Therefore, it has become a major issue in numerous urban areas globally. In this essay, I will examine the causes and offer possible solutions.
It is suggested that the lack of public transportation along with other human factors are the primary causes of this problem. Firstly, unavailability of public vehicles such as bus or metro lead people to a position in which they purchase more and more numbers of private vehicles that brings to traffic jams and even air pollution. Secondly, unacceptable human behavior often brings to this situation as well. By people not being fully aware of rules and acting disrespectfully disregard others. For instance, one driver not following the rules or trying to show off or moving with poor attention to details might lead to serious consequences.
Having said that, the solution to this worldwide problem lies within the drivers themselves and government. It is common knowledge that manufacturing more public vehicles like buses, for example, could lessen congestion by providing an immense opportunity for people to use them instead of buying private cars, which are the top cause for this problem. Following this, using public transport could also save a big amount of people’s money, which could make it very accessible to them. Additionally, creating strict road rules for those who drive and punishing if they do not follow them could help with this problem significantly.
