Band 6+: Many people are eating unhealthy food even though they know it's bad for their health. Why is this happening? What can be done to improve this situation?

In today’s modern world, the general public prefer to eat unhealthy food, such as fast food and sugary products. They also know that this food generates to harmful effects. This essay will expound on the causative factors of this phenomenon and the remedial measures that could be taken to ameliorate the situation.

This problem can be attributed to several factors. The most conspicuous contributing factor is many employers have busy lives and economic issues. For example, in this hectic lifestyle, people reduce their healthy meal plan and they usually depend on fast food out of habit. As a result, citizens became addicted to consuming cheap, unhealthy products because they lack health knowledge and money. Another major concern is that children often eat sugary food because advertisements have a negative impact on young individuals. There is no doubt that these issues negatively impact health, leading to problems such as diabetes, obesity and mental issues.

Nevertheless, this problem is not insurmountable and can be addressed through appropriate measures. Moreover, the government has advocated for maintaining affordable food prices for the public. For instance, China took action on this and reduced taxes on fresh products. Thus, it is creating a positive reaction in society. In addition, teachers should teach students how to control their emotions using unhealthy food advertisements and posters. Consequently, the government has responsibility release to new law for school canteens to sale only nutrition meals.

To conclude, this essay outlines the reasons people consume unhealthy food and how to address this issue. However, people have better cognitive abilities but struggle to control their emotions related to food.
