These days every time you switch on the television or flip through the newspaper, you can across the discussion on food production. Some people believe that the states should generate food for their populace consumption and reduce the amount of imported foods. I strongly agree to this view and in this essay will support my opinion with examples.
To begin with, cultivating food locally creates more job opportunities. This gives chance in the food packing and processing sector to employ more people, since the demand will rise high. This will lead to the reduction unemployment rates. For instance, according to 2022 statistics in Ghana has revealed increased number of working people in the nation due to local production. Also, government can easily monitor the production process, hence emphasizing on maintaining safe hygienic food standards.
Furthermore, reduction of food importation will help boost the country’s economic states. All resources will be used to to enable bountiful agricultural products, thereby the state will not spend money on importing good for the country. Additionally, importing foods can have negative impact in the environment due to the large amount of carbon dioxide emissions from planes , ships and trains . By this minimization, countries can play their part in helping solve environmental issues like climate change .
In conclusion, producing goods locally helps stablize the finances of a state , reduce global warming and creates more job opportunities. I agree importation of foodstuffs should be less in a country for the benefit of the citizens and the government.
