There is an opinion that producing all the food as little as possible for people to consume and import is essential for countries. I disagree with this statement as explained below.
To begin with, I hold the view that producing food at the lowest possible capacity for consumption and importation may lead to various financial issues. Chief among these is that providing an insufficient amount of trading food sources might hinder the monetary progress of food sellers. This is because if the government did not provide these sources enough, there would be a lack of food for traders to sell for money, thereby reducing the amount of money gained for them. For instance, Vietnamese citizens have faced the lack of wheat provided by the government, thereby lacking rice to exchange for money. As a result, they have struggled with making inadequate profits.
Besides financial problems, I believe little national food production for some individuals to eat and import may result in other ones. Specifically, the lack of food donations from the government to poor people can result in hunger for them. This can be seen in Vietnam in the past as the government of this country has reduced the amount of food donated to the homeless, making them suffer from hunger for a long time. Without such an action, the poor would be ensured a sufficient amount of food to eat, which can help avoid their hunger in the long term.
In conclusion, I go against the view that countries should provide all the food as little as possible for their populations to eat and import.
