Band 4+: Many people believe that social networking sites (such as Facebook) have had a huge negative impact on both individuals and society. To what extent do you agree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There is a view that social media has a large negative effect on both individuals and society. In my opinion, I believe the effect is more nuanced inasmuch as people spend a lot of time scrolling social media especially young people.

People start to pick up a habit watch short funny videos that also affects their moods. “Facebook ” for instance, has too much negative energy, fake accounts who can manipulate of person or bad words what also makes them feel terrible. On other hand we can chatting with people who live thousands kilometres from us, learn about their culture and languages. Enhancing our understanding, knowledge and skills for example cooking, doing it yourself or help for people living in another country.

Impact on society is so important thing for our precedence. it allows individuals to stay in touch with friends and family, even when they live far away. It also gives access to information, educational resources and imagination to help in work or study.

Regarding society, the impact is also double-edged. On the negative side, social media can spread minis formation and discuss about bad topics. Spread fake news, lying all of this minisformation which some people believe. On the positive side, social media recommends good place on vacation or country, city what you do not know.

In conclusion, social media has both advantages and disadvantages effects. While it can be harm for mental health , stressful situations and society in certain ways, it also improves skills, communication with others, find a couple. Therefore, I partially agree that it is impact is negative, but entirely harmful.
