Others argue that resources should be directed towards solving immediate problems like poverty, healthcare, and climate change. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

In the modern world, the quality of human life, together with pioneering technology, has significantly advanced. Space exploration is also part of this technological progress. Many affluent and powerful nations, especially Japan, India, China, Russia and the USA, have initiated competition in space and continue to expand their presence beyond Earth. On the other hand, many people in these countries still face serious social and environmental problems. Therefore, from my perspective, governments should invest more funds in public welfare to improve citizens’ living standards and reduce the gap between the rich and the poor.

Space exploration has become increasingly popular in the 21st century due to major improvements in space science, such as innovations in rockets, satellites and astrophysics. Astronauts are individuals who seek adventure and aim to explore space for the sake of scientific discovery and potential benefits for humanity. For example, SpaceX is currently attempting to transform Mars into a habitable planet by creating conditions that could support human life. This represents a clear example of today’s remarkable technological advancements.

However, life on Earth still requires substantial investment to meet daily needs, ranging from basic necessities to higher living standards. In the United States, although the government and private space companies invest vast amounts of money in space exploration, insufficient attention is given to the lives of homeless people and ordinary citizens. Likewise, in India, there is a large gap between the rich and the poor, and outdated beliefs continue to exist while the nation celebrates the launch of new satellites. To a great extent, many people in these nations face poverty and experience high levels of crime, and governments are still struggling to solve these deep-rooted social issues.

To sum up, space exploration is important for the pioneering discoveries but the citizens face many social issues such as poverty, crimes, low level of living standard and other primary requirements. Therefor, I strongly believe that the governments should prioritize to solve these social issues instead of investing too much fund in space exploring.
