Many metropolitan areas around the world have been negatively affecting people’s health. In this essay, the main factors leading to the degrading environments will be described and some feasible solutions will be put forward to address the issue.
First and foremost, the main cause that has led to the unhealthy city life is the rise in emission, effluent, and vehicles. The release of air pollution directly contributes to the degradation of air quality, with a greater amount of toxic gases emitted into the atmosphere. Similarly, the same outcome also comes from vehicles, especially in prominent metropolises. For example, populated cities like New Delhi and Bangkok are suffering from air pollution, worsening citizens’ health and quality of life. Besides, another reason for such a detrimental phenomena could be effluent. A lot of waste management and chemical factories have discharged toxic wastes into rivers and canals, and the consequences of that are unfavorable smells and polluted water paths.
However, steps could be taken to alleviate the problem. One point to consider, is the power of the government. By forming strict terms and conditions that control industrial factories’ emissions and effluents, the government can reduce the amount of toxic wastes being released into the air and waterways. On the other hand, they might as well encourage citizens to use public transportation instead of their own vehicles, or, advocate for electric vehicles. For example, the Chinese government reward people who chooses to use electric cars, as they are more environmentally friendly. As a result, the environment within urban areas become more healthy for citizen.
In summary, the ongoing crisis of harmful urban territory are becoming more dangerous for residents. Thus, effective measures must be use before the condition deteriorate, with the main supervision deriving from the government.
