In our modernized world, majority of individuals struggle with memorizing. Nowadays, technology significantly affects people’s ability to memorize, the impact of social media can’t be negotiated. However, this can be handled by several measures.
to begin with, technology has noticeably effects peoples memorizing skills .Admittedly, they will get used to it while ignoring the fact that they need to improve their memorizing capabilities. For example, majority of students in universities use their devices to store assignments, crucial schedules and information avoiding learning everything themselves. Social media also has a negative impact on recalling. in my country Uzbekistan, it is quite common to scroll instagram for hours. Consequently, scrolling through social media fills your brain with too much information at once, which makes it hard to focus. Because the content changes so quickly, your brain does not have enough time to save this information into your long-term memory. As a result, this constant distraction tires your mind and reduces your ability to remember things effectively later on.
To address these issues, several effective solutions can be implemented. First of all, individuals should consciously limit their daily screen time by setting boundaries on social media usage. For instance, turning off notifications or using apps that block Instagram after an hour can prevent mindless scrolling, giving the brain necessary time to rest and process information. Secondly, people need to actively train their brains instead of relying solely on digital devices. Students, for example, can practice remembering their schedules or studying with physical flashcards rather than saving everything on their smartphones. This active recall strengthens neural connections and naturally improves memory over time.
In conclusion, while modern technology and excessive social media scrolling weaken our memory and focus, this trend can be reversed. By practicing digital self-discipline and engaging in regular mental exercises, people can easily protect and improve their memorization skills in the digital age.
