In the contemporary era, newspapers or watching TV programs become less popular to individuals to get news, they use the Internet to access new information instead. This essay assumes that this statement has both advantageous and disadvantageous aspects that will be pointed out detailledly.
On the one hand, people not only get news through the Internet, but also easily access new information on it. To be more precise, individuals can be equipped with beneficial knowledge on the Internet that will be advantageous for them in several fields such as researching, working. Moreover, they can be able to get updating news immediately thanks to the development of the Internet. In the period of Covid-19 pandemic, for instance, citizens were unable to go outside and buy newspapers. Furthermore, employees working at television stations cannot go to work that leads to the fact that people were unable to follow the disease through TV programs. Therefore, they had to use the Internet to access information about the pandemic all over the world.
On the other hand, it cannot be denied that the Internet bringing advantages to our lives. However, a group of individuals in society tend to post wrong information on a variety of social media platforms owing to the availability of the Internet in terms of the public. For example, many spurious information about vaccines which are used as curement to deal with Covid-19 disease, was published on many platforms encompassing Facebook, Twitter by a group of people. After that they were punished by the government in view of making confusing information about wordwide problems. In addition, people would be miscommunicated and take fake vaccines if the government did not take action in preventing this phenomenon.
In conclusion, it would be a positive development in terms of the Internet if individuals using the Internet found reliable sources of news and information to absorb in order to prevent miscommunication.
