Some individuals believe that differences in personalities and abilities lead to better performance by men and women in different fields for each. From my perspective, I partly advocate this viewpoint for several rationales, which I will elucidate in this essay.
There are clear reasons why men may perform better in specific professional fields. Initially, men generally are superior to physical strength compared to women. From a young age, many boys have been encouraged to engage in physically demanding activities, which helps them develop strength and endurance. For example, in Vietnam, jobs that require significant stamina and bravery, such as miners and construction supervision, tend to attract more men than women. Additionally, men are often perceived as having stronger cognitive intelligence and critical thinking skills, which can help them excel in problem-solving situations. In Vietnam, for instance, men hold many of the highest positions in government, including the roles of president, general, and prime minister. This suggests that men may be better equipped to handle complex tasks and make critical decisions.
Some proponents of this viewpoint argue that female employees have the ability of conducting better professional tasks in specific occupation. Women appear to have ability of conveying emotion and a great sense of patience to other communicators. To be specific, in Asia, there are higher level of popularity among females enrolling in education universities that are established to train new generations of teachers.
On the other hand, there are certainly traits which are typical of men and others which are typical of women, there are exceptions to every rule. Not all women are physically weak, just as not all men are poor interpersonal communicators; conventional gender roles are not appropriate for everybody. If a man and woman desires to pursue a career which is traditionally reserved for the opposite sex, I believe he/ she should be provided the opportunity to prove him/ herself capable.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that the differences in physical strength and cognitive abilities between men and women can lead to men performing better in certain fields. However, it is important to recognize that individual capabilities can vary and we should not discourage anyone from choosing an occupation simply because of his or her gender.
