Social distancing has been followed by everyone, irrespective of age and profession, leading to utmost isolation. This trend has been promoted by industries where they permit their workers to work from home. In my opinion, it is a debatable topic, and I would like to discuss it despite the drawbacks.
To begin with, multinational companies have allowed their employees to work from home since it leads to productivity where workers can work at their convenience and generate fruitful results. Moreover, it does prove to be time-efficient, as each corporate professional would be designated a specific task, leading to ease of the burden from everyone associated with the team and meeting the deadlines. For instance, recently, a study reported that after the adoption of the work-from-home methodology, several businesses have churned out huge profits due to the higher satisfaction level of their professionals. Therefore, it has proven to be beneficial for both companies and employees.
On the other hand, it has become a reason for increased lethargy and a decline in the health of all the workers, as their physical movement becomes negligible. Furthermore, due to this poor health, they become quite reluctant to attend offline meetings; instead, they prefer it virtually, leaving a bad impression on their bosses and managers. For example, in India, major tech companies are dissatisfied with the work-from-home culture, as it has led towards degradation in their efficiency. Hence, working from home may also lead to negative developments.
To conclude, although work-from-home worsens the fitness of employees and leads to resistive behaviour towards one-on-one meetings, it allows professional workers to work in an environment that is favourable for them and the division of work, leading to generate gains in an estimated period of time.
