Band 5+: More and more people choose to live in bigger cities rather than in the countryside. Do you think living in an urban area brings people more benefits than drawbacks?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, most citizens choose to live in urban area rather than in rural area. Many people believe living in big cities can give many advantages for the. However, there are some drawbacks live in big cities for some people. I believe that living in urban area could bring many benefits such as the easily access to transportations and good public’s facilities. However, there is drawback live in urban area. For example, the traffic often being heavy.

First of all, living in big cities give residents more access to transportations. Additionally, the government supply many transportations for public such as bus and taxi. This is makes people life easier because if they want to go to any place many transportations provide for their journey. For instance, although many people do not have personal vehicles, they can still go to any places with public transport. As a result, they not feel difficult if they want to go. Another reason living in urban area could give benefits that the bigger cities usually have better facilities than facilities in country side. Big cities have good facilities because the government often take a look to their conditions. In addition, big cities often become tourist destinations because of that the facilities are taken care of by the residents and the government. For example, if one of facilities are broken, many people feel difficult to doing their daily activities. As a result, the government usually manage this problem quickly.

On the other hand, many big cities have same problem that are the traffic often crowded and heavy especially when the weather is bad. The reason behind this traffic jam is many people live in big cities that have personal vehicles and not many people use the public transportation. Furthermore, many people prefer to drive their own car or motorcycle that because they feel more comfortable in their own transportation. For example, many workers have their own vehicles because they feel that using their own transportation quicklier than using public’s bus. As a result, the road would fill with many transportations and the traffic can become heavy.

In conclusion, living in big resident area can bring benefits for the residents rather than the disadvantages living in there. The advantages like providing public’s transportations and nice facilities are often used by publics. On the other hand, many transportations could give problem like the crowded of traffic.
