Band 6+: More and more people in developing countries are purchasing cars for the first time time. What problems does this cause? What do you think are possible solutions?

Nowadays, it is a growing problem that raised automobile purchases in developing countries is leading to a host of issues that governments will have to deal with in the near future. I believe that one of the biggest problems is around traffic and governments can impose higher taxes and to support public transport.

The lack of proper infrastructure and planning in growing cities like Tashkent has led to severe congestion on the roads. With more and more people opting for private vehicles, the roads are unable to accommodate the increasing traffic volume. This not only leads to traffic jams but also poses a safety hazard for pedestrians and cyclists. The government is being urged to invest in expanding and improving the road networks to alleviate the worsening road conditions. Additionally, promoting the use of public transportation and implementing traffic management measures can help in easing the congestion and improving overall road conditions in Uzbekistan.

To fully address these problems, there are two potential solutions that governments can apply. Firstly, government should increase the higher taxes on all automobile purchases to deter buyers because, the if a car is expensive to buy, it helps to decrease the number of cars on the roads. Another solution would be to promote carpooling and ride-sharing initiatives. Encouraging people to share rides with others going in the same direction can help reduce the number of vehicles on the road and decrease traffic congestion. And the last solution is investing in cycling infrastructure and creating pedestrian-friendly environments can encourage more people to bike or walk instead of using cars for short trips. This not only reduces traffic congestion but also promotes a healthier and more sustainable mode of transportation.

In conclusion, I say that traffic problems caused by cars are a serious issue for the roads in the country and for people. If efforts are made to reduce automobiles on roads in favor of more efficient transport, they will see their initial investment.
