Nowadays, it is widely accepted that children should be taught how to recycle to maintain the Earth’s resources. Therefore, it has caused a controversial debate about who plays the role of training. Some argue that teachers should, while others think that parents should take responsibility. Personally, I agree with both viewpoints, which means parents and schools are in charge of educating children about recycling for some reasons below.
On the one hand, it is vital that parents take an active role in instructing adolescents on how to reuse items effectively. Fathers and mothers are considered to have a significant influence on them. To be more specific, as children are exposed to their parents’ thoughts and habits, a sizeable number of these may be passed down, including the habit of recycling. Consequently, if parents emphasize the importance of the environment and train adolescents on how to protect it, they will practically gain knowledge about it and put recycling into practice.
On the other hand, educators can develop structured curriculums abouat environmental preservation, thus broadening learners’ minds. If schools make protecting the ecosystem a subject, both teachers and students have to gain firm knowledge about it. Besides, it can be predicted that future generations also study this crucial subject. For example, English books in Vietnam include units about the environment. Therefore, students not only acquire vocabulary but also learn various methods to reuse old products.
All things considered, both schools and parents are responsible for teaching pupils ways to utilize used items. Moreover, all parties involved should pay attention to environmental issues for the long run.
