I believe the natural world is incredibly important in our daily lives. It is essential to recognize that there is no life without the natural world. Although towers and buildings continue to rise each day, they still have a profound impact on our quality of life. Below, I will outline several reasons that highlight why many people lack awareness of this issue.
Firstly, in our present time, we do not see children playing outside like their parents did in the past. Previous generations were aware of the significance of outdoor play and understood how it positively affected their health when breathing in fresh air. However, now everything has changed; childhood has become dominated by smart devices. For example, many young people now prefer to consume 10 hours of screen time but struggle to spend just 1 hour playing outside. Research conducted in Canada showed that 78% of children have decreased their physical activity because they do not enjoy playing in natural settings.
Secondly, fathers and mothers have a significant responsibility to address what is happening to their children. They must increase their children’s awareness and build knowledge about the importance of the natural world. For instance, parents could take their children on trips every weekend to teach them about what occurs in the natural world and warn them about the dangers of staying indoors.
Moreover, I would like to highlight a study conducted by a group of researchers in America, which indicated that 40% of children who spend more time outside are smarter than their peers. This shows how important outdoor experiences can be for cognitive development.
In conclusion, smart devices play a crucial role in the lack of awareness of the natural world, and parents have a primary responsibility to increase their children’s understanding of it.
