In recent years, people have relied more on alternative medicine and treatment. In my opinion, this has a negative outcome because it delays time for receiving the proper medical attention.
To begin with, the proportion of the older population has increased over the last few decades. The improvement of medical care has contributed to this rise. Although traditional medicine proved to be effective it is not suitable for all diseases. For instance, acupuncture is a form of chinese traditional medicine, which is a thin needle inserted in the body. It is beneficial in some cases of back pain however it can not be used to treat cancer.
On the other hand, modern medicine has improved significantly throughout the past decades. Researchers and scientists have contributed to this marvellous transformation. from the studying of the anatomy of the human body, till the genetic studying. Consequently, diseases have been easily identified, and their treatment were available. For example, drugs have been invented as a result of genetic engineering by targeting specific enzyme at the molecular level to kill cancer cells.
In conclusion, despite the popularity of alternative medicine, it is not suitable for all conditions. This is because of the growth of medical field, which can treat illnesses that are considered as untreatable in the past. Nevertheless, traditional chinese medicine has remained the same over the years.
