Nowadays, many individuals prefer to treat themselves via traditional methods instead of visiting doctors. This trend can be attributed to several factors, and I believe it represents a negative development.
There are some reasons why people choose traditional medicine. The most common cause is affordability. Many herbal or home remedies are way cheaper compared to hospital sessions or modern medicines, especially in developing countries. Subsequently, people with financial difficulties rely on these cheaper alternatives. Another reason is cultural influence. Many people trust traditional medicine because it has been tested over time and generations. For instance, in some countries there are beliefs that herbal tea helps to cure illnesses such as colds and headaches. Therefore, Individuals feel comfortable using traditional methods rather than consulting doctors.
However, relying only on traditional medicine can be a negative trend. The main reason is that many traditional remedies do not have enough strong vitamins and required elements, which means they can be not effective. Individuals can still suffer from different illnesses while treating themselves by traditional methods since home remedies do not give them required vitamins. Thus, although traditional treatment is beneficial in some minor cases. relying on this too much can cause even more issues
In conclusion, a large number of people choose traditional methods mainly because of low cost and strong cultural influence. Nevertheless, I hold the view that this is a negative development, as it can be harmful for people’s health.
