In modern times many prefer self-employment over being an employee for others. I believe this may be due to the heavy workloads and lower wages.
While many consider this as an excellent opportunity, there are a few drawbacks I aim to mention in this essay.
People doing corporate jobs usually find it hard to stay motivated due to the unparalleled earning and workload. For instance, teachers teaching at school work six days a week from early hours in the morning until night, face numerous challenges with various types of students, and they put extra effort for mediocre students. Moreover, they often have to take exam papers home for correction. The salary tutors receive is not equal to the effort and energy they put into their job. Consequently, they feel exhausted and many decide to be self-employed to have a better working condition.
While owning a business has many advantages, there are numerous negative aspects of it. Unsteady work path and heavier responsibilities can result in anxiety and depression in many self-employed individuals.
For example, online shop owners may struggle to find their niche and particular customers when they begin their business, or they may not be able to experience a stable amount of sales every month.
Therefore, they feel stressed out about paying their monthly bills on time.
In conclusion, a great number of people decide to start their own business rather than working for others as a result of wages below the standard and job dissatisfaction.
However, self-employment may lead to higher levels of anxiety because of the uncertain future and unstable income.
