Today, instead of visiting a medical professional, a large number of people are inclined to utilize multiple social platforms with an aim to get instructed. From my perspective, there are two primary reasons for this trend, and I personally believe that it brings more harm than good with some following ideas.
This position is affected by two main factors. The first reason is that populations are able to save their time and money if they get medical advice through the Internet. For example, many Americans currently use their modern devices in order to be medically consulted, which is not time-consuming, and significantly assists them in financial stability, as they have to pay a fee if they want to do a medical check-up. Moreover, the citizens’ health will be guaranteed. It is because, in contemporary society, some individuals lack professional skills, but they keep opening their own surgeries so as to have a more prosperous life. As a result, more and more patients are going to be detrimentally affected regarding physical and mental well-being, which puts at risk of chronic diseases.
This trend, in my opinion, is disadvantageous for a main reason. It would lead to the closure of a large quantity of hospitals and private clinics, putting qualified doctors in unemployed circumstance, which gradually negatively affected national economy. For instance, in Thailand, a study conducted by a group of researchers from Japan indicated that the proportion of unemployed doctors steadily declined due to heavy dependence on technology to get medical instruction of the citizens. As a consequence, Thailand’s GDP experienced a dramatic fall, people, namely doctors, had to deal with poverty and unemployment, and the government struggled on vitalizing the country’s economy. Therefore, overusing the Internet to get medical advice may bring about unforeseen difficulties that will put the humanity in peril.
In conclusion, saving time and money, and ensuring overall health are two primary tendencies of people taking medical advice in the Internet. Additionally, from my overall look, this situation is harmful as it contains a vast array of serious problems impoverishing a nation’s economic state.
