In addition, online courses reduce expenses like going to course by taxi or other public transport and buying food at canteen. As students have everything at home they will not have to spend their money. Thid is especially beneficial for students from poorer families who can not afford the expenses of normal courses.
On the other hand, online learners may face major health problems due to increased screen time. Online students tend to have a sedentary lifestyle which can lead to obesity. Furthermore, they spend a lot of time in front of computer which is hurtful for eyes. As normal students usually have a more active life they are not likely to face these problems. Besides, a student may become irresponsible if they are not supervised by someone. In distance learning teachers usually do not care about students progress and homework, whereas in traditional education students can get punished for not doing their homework.
In conclusion, even though distance learning can save time and reduce the expenses it may affect student’s health badly and sense of responsibility
